A clinical study on the placental/fetal weight ratios



Abstract
Mean placental weghts and mean birth weights were measured and mean placental weights percentages of mean birth weights were calculated by the sex and parity in 400 cases after 36 wee] of pregnancies. The results were as followings:
1. The percentages were decreased along the increased length of gestational weeks.
2. There were no significant differences of the percentages in the fetal sex and parity.
3. The percentages were ranged from 17. 6 to 19.0 by the parity and fetal sex at 40 weeks pregnancy.
4. In eclampsia during 39 to 41 weeks, the percentage was increased to 22.3%.
